E.D.C.UNISON
branch represents almost 1800 employees of East Dunbartonshire Council
as well as employees of several voluntary sector organisations operating
in the council area.
We are involved
in negotiating terms and conditions of service through the various
partnership forums, as well as defending members' rights, representing
them at disciplinary and grievance hearings and campaigning.
Our
Branch Executive which includes all Branch Officers, Workplace Stewards
and Health and Safety Reps meets monthly. To find the dates of these

For
the past couple of years we have been participating in the Joint Futures
Agenda. Ensuring that the terms and conditions of our members are
protected.
We
have also recently entered into a Partnership
at Work agreement. This will change the way negotiations with
our employers are conducted and will move us away from the old traditional
and confrontational methods of indusrtial relations. Whether this
will work to our advantage remains to be seen and will take a great
deal of effort from both sides.
